You ready to get started . All dont know are you ready to get started . Wave so ittle and know you are ready to get started. Taskednd i have been with getting everyone ready to go. I am excited to start the second part of our program today. We still have a ton of candidates to hear from. Articulate howto to protect access as well as be bold and visionary. We have talked about health care across the state and the nation. Are you hearing what you want to hear . Ok. A couple of reminders. Remember, the first one is one diva, one mic. Soour storytellers are being brave and sharing their testimonies that we are listening to them. Onond ground rule, we are the records show our hair is right and tight. Is a do not, this shade environment. We want to lift up candidates when they share something that we like. , be present. Ly as vicki said earlier, our power is in this room. This is a powerful room so stay with us because we know we are going to hear a lot of great stuff today. Are we all good . Let us get started. Hold on to your seats. Arm next candidate most recently served as Vice President of the United States with barack obama. He became vp after serving in the senate since 1972 representing the state of delaware. Give us a hand clap for joe biden v. P. Biden a lot of you out there. Its jump right on in. You have had a long career i it is you have stated that you have evolved on some issues. You came out as a champion for Womens Health when you spoke against the hyde agreement amendment. V. P. Biden let me explain what happened. I laid out a Health Care Plan that will provide federally funded health care for all women and women who are now denied medicare in their home states. A medicaid type policy that will divide all of the same services. Althoughear to me that the Hyde Amendment was designed to try to split the difference, you cannot have access if everyone is covered by federal policy. What else did you want to ask me . Thank you so much for saying that. Au are known as being straight shooter. I want to ask you an honest question. There are some voters who may have some concerns about your overall support for Reproductive Health. A lot of them might be watching on the life screen. V. P. Biden i am not sure about the mixed record part. Ive had a 100 voting record with you guys. I would immediately expand health care to everyone. Poor women would have complete coverage. There is no rationale that can be saying you are federal but they cannot use federal funds to seek Reproductive Health care rights. The fact of the matter is, i all of thenate changes that this president has made to our attempts to make title x rational and reasonable. Number three, we are in a situation where i would codify. Oe v. Wade heres the other thing. ,hat we dont talk much about we Affordable Care act, made sure that women, not just your access to reproductive rights, but the fact of the matter is women were treated differently by insurance companies. We made a law that said you cannot be charged more for the same Health Insurance as a man. Pregnancy cannot be a preexisting condition. You can go down the line. [applause] the reason you guys are so prickly important is it is not just making critical important it is not just making Reproductive Health care available. You are saving lives. Here is what hope is trying to do now. He is not only trying to do with 600 million in mexico city. We have 8 billion of assistance around the world and he is trying to apply mexico city standards to that. Its dead wrong. People are dying around the world. We are saviors around the world. And look about 10 seconds left or something . The fact of the matter is we are in a situation where mortality rates for poor women and black women 26. 5 , 25. 6 people out of 100,000 who end up dying as a consequence of birth is absolutely absurd. Its higher than it is in even in countries that are third world countries. So we should be investing a great deal more money in the entirety of how we deal with Womens Health care and making it available across the spectrum. I think you do not get nearly enough credit, planned parenthood, that you are the ones who are providing for all of the health care for poor women in ways that nobody else has been able to. Funding. [applause] mr. Vice president , we have a great member of our audience with a question for you. Our next storyteller served in the u. S. Army as a chemical operations specialist. After completing her service, she returned to her hometown in West Virginia to pursue her education. Ms. Calloway currently serves on our planned parenthood south atlantic board of directors. Lets hear from her. Mr. Biden ive got to see you. [applause] mr. Biden i want to look at you. Hi, Vice President joe biden, thank you for taking my question. Mr. Biden thank you for your service, by the way. [applause] i live in West Virginia. Im a veteran. Im a single mother. Im a community organizer. Im also one of the one in four women in this country who have had in abortion. I have had three abortions from the only clinic that provides care, the Womens Health center, and every single one of those abortions was necessary for me to survive. I spent five years in an abusive marriage with a man who was assaulting me. I was also sexually assaulted in the military and tricare does not cover Abortion Health care for military survivors of Sexual Assault. My bodily autonomy is precious to me, and that is why i am here telling you the most personal story of my life for the first time. When my husband was three months old, my husband and i were separated. We went to the house we shared to pick up my belongings and my sons belonging. At that time, i had a protective order in place. He was not supposed to be there, but he was and he assaulted me. My Birth Control failed. I became pregnant. I had two more pregnancies after my Birth Control failed me. Before i found a method that worked for my body. As i healed from the trauma of my marriage, being sexually assaulted in the military, raising my son by myself i went to college so i could build up the best life for us. I would be on medicaid and wont have sought treatment for ptsd, anxiety and depression and that i am the person today. I couldnt turn to the va for that i needed. My apportions were covered by medicaid. Inia and i could not have afforded that is y own but before amendment one passed in nyingvirginia last year, de the right of West Virginiain women to decide what to do with now, own bodies and because of the amendment, women need to plead for help from their partners or family who may supportive orring foro imply be eir bills to s unable to afford the care they need. I have met some of these women. Ght for somed an fou of these women. Promise you, their pain is real. Iences are real and it would break your heart. Across the country. Enerations of women in situations like mine have suffered because of the Hyde Amendment. My mothers generation, my generation. Young women, and young girls. O, Vice President , how are you going to expand . Access to sexual and Reproductive Health care including aborings, to ensure me and veterans get access for the care that need. Matter is t of the when you recall, the reason i rst e the act in the fi place, i wrote it is because of what ive seen, what i understand, happening going into the neighborhoods and communities and seeing. O color, no bounds or ethnicity. He fact of the matter is that l thatu to stand and recal brings it back, and its hard. Two, i believe across the board what were going to have to see to it is that all of what you changed. The idea that we still have a still have a failure to deal with Sexual Assault rape is outrageous. That is what barack and i tried to do. Former husband should be in jail. I hope there is a prosecutor going when he had to say be there. That is why weve changed the violate,e state if you you automatically are apprehended. Three, idea there is a notion anywhere in the world when a s raped can be accessed this the military or bizarre. Is its wrong, simply wrong, and should have access to and benefits, va benefits should cover your circumstances right now, weve talked about that and tried to move that. Here is the deal. We have to expand the prof absentdictate to a state the violation of a constitutional amendment or a federal law applying to them, how many clinics are available in every state. What we have to do is provide access to increase funding which to do for planned parenthood. It was referral, a woman doesnt have the money shell be able to get that referral through transportation and the whole deal. He point is that we have to expand particularly for women insurance, and for transgender women we have to do this. Because no. No. No. I really mean it. I dont think we think of that often. Ten nt think of transgender women killed just this year, just this year. And folks, what i love to do, if you have time to talk to me personally . I really mean it. I think i can directly help your personal situation as well. Okay . But the answer is there should all. His restrictions at getting the arly, right reproductive care in terms of Birth Control this, is like, you know, come on. This is the 21 century. So, anyway. Question . Answer your really . Say mom were here, shed god love you dear, it took a lot of coverage to do what you did. I know there are women here have been abused. Women here have opinion victims of abuse. You know how hard it to stand up and say it. Back as if it happened that moment. So thank you. What branch . Army . What is your rank . All right. Im going to make thur shah i understand how my son was a d states army. Nite the one who died. Bottom line is, youre a said, your bo, so i Field Grade Officers are dead. I never met majors. Anyway, thank you. Thank you so much. Y. Sorr yes. Thank you. One more time . And a great round of applause. Thank you. From Vice President joe biden, much. You so well bring her back stage to meet you. Thank you. Thank you very much. And by the way, when you vote for me vote. Vote. Vote. Take this pack. That is right. Our next guest currently serves as governor of Washington State. Member of rmer congress. Ensley. Yall. N, hello, governor. Thank you. Here you are. Yes. All right. This is a good crowd. Pretty convinced were right. Well, of course. Were right. I believe that. All right. Governor you come in with a unique perspective as one of the governors in the race. And importantly your state llees withedicaid enro abortion coverage as well as a suite of other health care. Why did you think it was important for your state to provide access to abortion, for medicaid enrollees . And do you believe that should e row vieded at the federal level . Yes. It should be provided. This is a simple principle here, i believe over the last 30 years. Day,first day, today, every i believe that Reproductive Health care is health care. Full stop. Period. That is just the doned mental thing. N d secondary, i believe i today, we have to recognize that i wish it were not so, there is a full Scale National concerted effort to deny women a right of freedom. Weve seen this is a land of the free and home of the brave. Need brave people to stand up to product the freedom interests of women not to allow donald trump to get between a woman and her doctor. I t is is fundamentally what believe. So that means this is a freedom on erest and there is no reas you should deny a woman a freedom interest depending on or financial circumstances. So yes. No question about it. This should be available. But we have done more than that. Weve got oud to say one that is not the best arody act to make sure a woman has access to Reproductive Services. Very, very important. Were doing that in my state. We want to make sure this is covered. And that is happening. I want to say this is the whole thing were talking about is wrapped in our efforts to expand health care so we have universal health care for everyone in america. We ought to be committed to that principle. Im proud to tell you in Washington State weve atpted a public option for state sanctioned health care in the United States. Weve passed that. Its now law this the state of washington. We know in this issue, there are we have to llenges have. Look. The alleged conscious clause. Look. Conscience we should be united d about is the states constitution. This is a constitutional right. A conscience in this country, you ought to respect that constitutional right. And if you have a problem with it, perhaps you ought not to be in that business. Usiness of n the B Health Care ought to provide Reproductive Services and we have fought for that. Nd were winning these things in the gag rule. Were going to hopefully have an injunction soon. We hope we get that done. And yes, we know this. Time as been a long interest of me. And my wife. We entered Public Service in rying to bill a school in washington. One of the first things we thought about is how to talk about this issue. Rural ntative very agricultural area. And we knew this is going to be fficult time, di political issue. Ut we decided this was a core to who we are. And so, one if not the first ad i ever ran was sitting had an her chair my wife bought and ooking into the camera telling people of Yakima Valley you elected me im going to help you every day. We have to be warriors for this freedom. This is a constitutional right. Tand up 100 on. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you governor. And like you said this is about real people. Right . Nd im excited to see a Community Member here. Renee is a leading voice on tions and here abor writing has opinion published in the new york times, washington her and other places and work elevated the conversation about experiences using trategies in all center the experiences of people of color. Excited to hear from renee. Yes. And thank you very much. Thank you. Thank you. Hi, governor. Can i call you jay . Yes. Thanks, jay. So kelly said my name is Renee Sherman from the great state of illinois. When i was 19 i had an abortion. Hen i was in high school, i started having sex. And i xot myself on Birth Control at our School Health center and i took it diligently. Precautions take but knew that if i ever got dy to nt, and i wasnt rea parent id have an abortion. A few years later i was between retail job and i couldnt afford the copay on the Birth Control pill. Which, i was now getting through my parents insurance. Nd my toxic exboyfriend refused to use a condom so i became pregnant. I wanted an knew abortion. Ointment andd an app had to wait a week. Mismarriage use a but i was lucky. Independent Abortion Clinic nd my parents are watching, hi mom, hi, dad. So i maxed out a credit card. Chicago know about the abortion fund. Ab and apportion funds that raise money to help people pay for their abortions but now, i im an evangelist for apportion funds. I procedure was quick and wonderful. An Orthodox Jewish nurse held my hand throughout the procedure and it was the best and Kindest Health care i have received. Acial black woman i ham a. M. Proud to tell you my abortion story. Service of women and transgender people who need apportions every day. Im not ashame of the decision i made and how that decision dicate my life e to supporting people of all genders, especially people of color who need abortions. Deciding issue when i vote because it signals didate stands and ensures we have access to health care and economic freedom. Eryone loves someone that had an abortion policies would impact us all. Are you going to ban sexual ndd Reproductive Health care a ensure people like me have what . S to care no matter thank you. First thing is beat donald trump. That is the first thing im going to do. Listening to you im thinking im pleased youre willing to escribe yourself as an evangelist and i appreciate you being proud of that. Say that. He reason i the trump party and Republican Party have a strategy. It is a dark strategy. It is based on fear and based on look, make someone else be the other. Renee effort is to make look like the other. Evil characterme that is not accepted in american society. I know who renee is. Renee is the daughters of the o vote can legislators wh to give a womans right of choice and the first time their daughter gets pregnant sends them to someone to have an abortion. That is whats happening. This is not, renee not the others shes one in four e found women who hav themselves in these positions for whatever circumstances and then exercises their freedom right. You talked about restoring funding. Look. This is freedom funding. When we get rid of the height ofndment and we will get rid the height amendment, okay . These turns at, will go fundamentally to xercise a womans right of freedom. That is what this is. The right to be free from intrusion in the most intimate people, part of a persons life. About and at this is why i appreciate you pushing it back against this trying to make women look like a strange creature but thank you for what youre doing. Rk we need lot more wo to do. In addition to the height amendment. First off, we shouldnt just depend on the supreme court. We have civil rights in this country this, is a civil right. Ng have a civil right of housi and nondiscrimination and in employment. His should be a civil right producted by statute that no trols and protects a wm matter what state they live in. We should make this a civil right. Second. Sex education. Nd i, i crust cant understand why of ublicans are so afraid that word you know . Its involved in our personal lives. This is really important. Look. You know . I worked rhetoric out of President Trump and wanted to do aids. S against he didnt want to do something about Sex Education. We need to reduce stds. Ned best way is to fund plan parenthood so we can prevent this diseases and build Sex Education into the curriculum of public schools. Our children are. To you love your children, you ought to be talking to them about sex and hope that is going on in schools as well. We have to push back. We need, you mention difficulty getting contraceptive services because trinity and i have contraceptive services through planned parenthood. Early in our relationship. We understood that 20 copay al. A big de true ee, your story rings to me. We need to make it more accessible. We have expanded the eimbursement rate so women can get longacting reproductive we call started what upscreen program to train how to make sure women understand how this really works. Were trying to make this work in the real life. For you, and everyone else. So i want to thank you for doing. What youre i hope youll be politically active this year as well as being an evangelist. And well tell you that i think you probably have a feeling about where i stand on this issue. Hunker ink we have to down here and understand this. You can ot a battle just win once. Or twice. Or three times. This is a battle we have to win every single day, every week, and every year. And it will continue. Hod we must look for leaders w are stolwort on this. Ct me president of the United States ill be all three. Thank you very much. Governor, thank you. Thank you. Thanks a lot. Right. Right. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. All right. Thank you, governor, and thank haring your or s story. Lause for and of app hem, our next guest is a successful author. Elcome miss marianne williamson. Hi. To see you. Thanks for joining us. Oh, right. Thank you for joining us miss williams. Thank you for having me. Yes. Right. Were just going to jump into this. Lets to it. I am a spiritual person. As well. U are my question is around how do you intersection of health care. Islators ure a leg special personal or religious infringe upon tion care. R there is no more spiritual perspective that nothing should be able to limit this, conversation appears to be about s reproductive freedom or appears to be a womans health. This is not just about reproductive freedom. R. s about women, and powe that is what is going on here. All of this attack. Battle. Is just a the war is against womens empowerment. Is keep her in a state she doesnt have choice about that. And people entury would say overthrow the patriarchy, the only way to planet we want with you will empowerment. The only way is if there nothing blocking us. Nothing blocking us that was a law made by a man. t do that anymore. That is consciousness all of have. Ed to sometimes we get siloed and we n ed to understand its o attack of the sole agency of women. Two shun has a religious believe at. Espect th that is different than the laws of the United States. That is different. So we are pull requality and stice bout liberty and ju for all. This is a justice issue. Ometimes one problem i have with this conversation about planned parenthood and reproductive freedom is still a little bit like theyre doing us sometimes. That is unless women are full and equal partners and were cannot do if were discriminated against and if we have Unnecessary Health issues present. Uldnt be or ng healthy is necessary f us to pursue happiness. And that is what the government should be. Should not be limited or freedoms. Our weve to the a member of the audience with a question for you. Cassy jones mcpride is a social entrepreneur. Who has a longstanding commitment to the empowerment and positive development of women and girls around the world. Especially in detroit. 009, cassy funded International Women network, a onprofit that produces body positive initiatives this d the united an states. Cassy. Hear from or taking in hi question. Y name is kathy and i live in detroit, michigan. Ashamed of my s choice. I was living at home, going to school full time. Struggled just to make ends meet. Espite that did Everything Possible to make sure ur t we dream bigger than o circumstances. She had so many plans for me. I couldnt raise a family or have a child in that situation. Because i felt my body didnt belong to me. Spiritual to a belief system, a society and their view of what life means, who made the choices i made. I exist within a system that is every day, failing my body. As a woman, the medical industry fails us. Already Birth Control methods moreare more effective the you way. As a plaque woman, hi health is re risk in a country whe racism is this the air we breathe. I live in a state where people ccess to are denied a basic essentials to survive, ike clean water, and decent education. I am marginalized in every in ways my existence that are never in my control, im had in a constant fight for survival. My body producted me through trauma. And i will fight for her protection. All very is is my body. Hi agency. One has the right to decisions with my doctor. E. s about controlling my lif future. , my officials should be oakused on their constituents. How are you going to expand access to sexual and Reproductive Health care including abortions to ensure people like me have access to t. O matter wha i wear hearing aids, however, i to hear what think the last question, so, how are you twoing reproductive freedoms . That what i said . Yes . Is fostfor . Is who nd we knead to do more than just talking about the sex, we cause. O talk about the the cause is that we have transitions are a democracy to crassy. Tock we have a fostof a few of the people by a few of the people and for a few of the people. Fightingpeople who are abortion and wanting to overturn roe v. Wade know if to be overturned rich women would men get apportions wo were harmed and some died. S happening what here. Its the government if youre a certainly color or socioeconomic group, if youre a certain one yn which is represented today b that 1 , then fostserves you. His is why the deeper justion of our time is not about women. I think its important were not sexuality and , culture and money, by anything. Democracy. Attack on this is an attack on the idea the fostis is for everybody or what it is now, a few of the people by a few of the people. Care, we now have reproductive freedom and all of the things all of us want. So you Better Believe it, maam. Is is why i do, th believe, i dont think we should ote for a person just based on their gender. Ut on some of these issues we who are women just get something. We get something at a deeper level and get the games that are get the games that are big and blunt. It. So, you Better Believe because if im president , im og to be aware that this government is for you. And it doesnt matter your color socioeconomics. Nd not only is the point of a leader to fight off any denial of your rights but to go further. That is my issue on this stuff. We need to go further than attack on our rights. We immediate to go into full claiming of our power. You mess with her, health care, you mess with her reproductive freedom, youre messing with her power as a woman. Ts that none of us get there there. All of us get tion faced chris crime na because of her size in addition to race. So body. Expectations are different for someone like her. Youve that something had to run into before. This is where i believe we signs in to positive terms of trends. You know . Fascinating interplay between cultural change, governmental change. Comes to en it cultural change, were getting there. Were, very, very if times. On the horizon. Nd it has to do with consciousness of the people. Ns political quicke change. So i believe on that, were i ally getting this and remember years ago, youre mber, ly too young to reme there is actually a time people black is int out beautiful. Those days are over. New front years at any size. I think youre right. For cassy again. Today. You for your time alaws ve run out of again. Next candidate is john delaney a former member of ongress representing sixth district of maryland for six years. Please, join me in welcoming john delaney. Are you . W thank you. , weve got a great group here theyre eager to hear what you have to say. So were going to jump in. Thousands of Crisis Pregnancy Center as cross the country land, are in mary coercing people against abortion with false information and scare tactics. Tactics. What would you do as president to ensure that people are given Accurate Information when it comes to comes to abortion in health care . Thank you for having me, this is about with as well run an event as i have been that is why i have come out against the Hyde Amendment, because it prevents women from getting the health care that they need. Is would you provide that is would you provide Health Care Dollars to this . Delaney yes. It is pretty simple, actually. Men and women have different bodies and different experiences around sex and parenthood. Right now, a large amount of populations making decisions about women in their bodies are men. If elected president , can you talk about whether you would prioritize elevating the importance of Women Leaders in your cabinet . Men. I think every ones voices need to be heard. Its true. If were going to make decisions for the common if of the citizens of the United States of the ca, which should be responsibility of the president of the United States hen that aring should be he everyone. Es from this is a very important issue to me. Im happy married 29 years and have four daughters so this is an issue i wont be saying these have daughters but very four daughtersnt make it personal. E, wife has been very activ shes on the board of an Organization Called International Center for research on women. Which deals with womens issues around the world. And the war were seeing waged on womens reproductive freedom erica United States of am is administration is also doing globally by the way. Of women w conditions laces the world this many are just horrific. Rights lobal human tragedy. And so not only need voices issues, asout womens it relates to domestic policy but we do as it relates to International Policy as well. I believe the United States of america has an obligation to lead on these issues. Orts overwhelming if you supp women, in destabilized parts of the world, its the fastest way places into stabilized areas. Youre not only different voices informing your policy, but you hed it on your International Policy as well. Right. Right. Our next question sorry i turn my back to you there. Its okay. Just turn to the face to the people there, listening. Ofm. Question from a member the audience. Brittany is a master candidate at the forth Washington University Milton School of Public Health. The question is, what will you do as president to prevent mritization of Health Center thats provide apportion care. Thank you. Thank you to people from planned parenthood. Thank you. I have had a front row seat to this this texas and to tokes this ledge lay tour over the years who have done a tremendous job pushing back. Is, g with senator wendy dav push back. But the fact is that this is happening texas, and in places pam georgia, missouri, pam mean theres is a assault on a womans right to get an abortion. And it means you need a Strong Partner in washington to do protect g we can to that right. The question is, how would we do that . We can. Y way that legislation. Ederal o Better Health care system, everybody gets health care, ensuring we do things like amendment the height because its not just about health but justice. Dots y, what i see that are connected. Young counselman 26, or 27. , ways and a woman said can you put money in the budget for sidewalks on my moms street because my mom lived there 30 years. Diagnosed withen iabetes and but, she couldnt walk around the neighborhood safely because there are no sidewalks. For me as a rung policy maker the light bulb went off that in this g is connected ase, that simple sidewalk to someones health. What when we think about this issue, we have women and other whos need prerooe productive o are o get an abortion wh sleeping on strees and living in shelters and living in public housing. How do we ensure no matter what our means are, or where youre at you can avat yourself of that . We fund housing and make investments in you know all types of opportunities, that we seize those opportunities to ake sure that there is reproductive freedom and justice. Most would like to do the of hi president in ensuring no matter who you are in this that care u can get that you need. Right. Thank you. Thank you. One quick follow up question. As you know, title 10 domestic gag rules would you commence repealing as president if you an tell us about any other plans have you to ensure Reproductive Health care providers can fully participate in the Public Health care programs. Thank you. I would. We need to go into the other direction. President that champions Reproductive Health care. That, by embracing a womans right to choose and to tion. An abor the right of members of the transcommunity to have the same rights. We cant forget. Inclusive. Be and i also believe that there are two other things we can do. Legislation in congress, re rights are prestricted. Were going to have a democratic resident and house and democratic senate. Lks have asked they say, well, you know what to good is that . If you still have Mitch Mcconnell in the senate which is a good question. Despite that, president obama turned out to be one of the best president s we have had. You know . It wont have been that way. Answer the question, if preproductiveween health care and justice and freedom, or a 60 vote rule that freedom, or a 60 vote rule that is not in our constitution that both parties have violated to do so and i choose Reproductive Health care and freedom and justice for the people of america. Terrific. To secondary, were going point to the Federal District Appellate Court level. Judges hold pro gressive values v. Wade and ng roe choose. We can pass equality act to make sure you discriminated in this sing and getfind hou care. H tow, often times when tates or state legislatures or federal government are trying to do the right thing, often times, the Transgender Community played part of the ther community. I remember in 2013 were doing a nondiscrimination ordinance. Folks on the side of doing nondiscrimination said why dont you consider not including ner community this time. You a charged issue and might be able to get more aid ort if you dont wex s no. Include everybody and we d at hud we worked to to makequal access rule sure transgender individuals could get housing or shelter in a publicly funded shelter according to how they identified. Its been great and i had a good run this morning. Yes. Beautiful city. Beautiful city. Different from el paso. Were in the desert southwest. Ou had. Tuff y but its beautiful and everyone has been kind and warm and welcoming. Thank you. Thank you so much. Here. Re going to jump in so called public charge rule which would deny immigrant y sas, green cards simpl because they have received any one of a broad range of benefits including health care. This creates a culture of fear ome immigrant families are voiding basic health care and benefits out of fear of retaliation. Someone spent the campaign on issue whats steps would you take to expand ak he is is hes rights to abortion immigrants . So i mention from el paso, texas it is with what is, what happened in the western hemisphere . 3 million of us . Two languages . Joined, not separated by the rio grand river. And el paso wanted to be one of united st cities in the states of america. Were compromised of immigrants and i argue because of the the nce, the foundation of and strikes me as being comp highsed under this administration. Example of the trump administration. Family courtt to a judge. Issued that order on the way out of the courtroom. Arrested by two plain clothed Border Patrol agents. Making it less likely immigrants are going to come forward to report a crime, and testify in a srial what. Hes doing, on thi pretense of making us safe and far less safe hahn it would be otherwise. And we hear about whats happening, in the detention, unable to access, irls unable to access their pReproductive Health care, young women show up and just read about one in the Associated Press yesterday. Old. Ears still recovering from an emergency c section has a premature infant in her arms. With an aluminium foil blanket to try to keep them warm at night. Soiled had their own clothes unable to have the dignity expected for every human being. This. Ildren have this cannot be us. Country comp prooised from refugees. So as president well no longer separate families or puts putt kids in cages. Families and ose make sure were not detaining them. Lead them through a program called family Case Management that allows them at a fraction of the cost no keep them locked dignity they deserve and laws and llow our care. D access to health this court ruled in favor of immigrant women who are being blocked from accessing abortion care. Would you change Administration Policy to comply with the court . Absolutely. For many of the same reasons just discussed and the recent memory of this president secretary of health and Human Services and director of office of trying to force young eir ownnto only making th body. Ions about their own these cases are haunting and chilling and the settled law of far as im concerned. For everyone. Thank you. Thank you congressman. I do want to introduce to you a member of the audience going to have the next question. I want to introduce you to mabel dorothy, elder care provider and child. Mother to a young attacks on reproductive rights in georgia the ban. Against yours. Oor is thank you. So i do work in domestic work. Im a Domestic Worker and work with elders and that means i have to be mindful of their medical care. He same time, i have to remind myself to care about my medical care. Which is very difficult because in domestic work, most of us dont get health care. We dont get time off. Et a lot. G nd so, when it comes to Reproductive Health, and stice, part of ing with cles indal working with people in their ot having any kind of court to work on my family. Right . Not just abortion. Like i got toll at 23, i was too young to have my tubes tied. Right . And so now very to make other decisions about my body. Because someone else decided i might change my mind. Right . Working as a domestic woman, and i am a black and its a feel prime mayor yily immigrant women and in thesable, ery medical oppression we have to overcome. Dealing with families that have elders, we have to dical oppression for them. They need advocates and in the being advocated for. Right . A lot going on. Its important for us to keep reminding each other we Work Together and that what happens lives affects my life affects mirror life. You how ing to ask youre going to Access Health aborings, ding edication abortions and including mid wives and back ces that bring care into their homes. How would you do that and ensure people like me have access to no matter what . Thank you. This irony that those who are providing health care for others cannot afford it for themselves this this country for as long as the right to organize in he leverage of the value to ensure better care for those. Elevate make sure we the power of that is going to sure we have living wages, high Quality Health care, e and ability car medications. Largest provider of the health care also means everyone makes her own decisions access to ody and to do that fcation were able to do that, then, hose providing that care are ve ng to be able to recei care. The right to organize economic care e is tied to health and dignity in the work place it. Live outside of own. S talking about luis br given your sacrifice and struggle, conditions have to be better now right . Said no. Its worse today, 50 years later time. At the its got to be an economy that country. All in this thank you. For what youre sharing with us today, thank you. Ppreciate it congressman said this domestic works, most, i would all. Ntee probably very few get coverage for health care in the work they do. That its so pivotal to allow people to stay at home, lth care, e home hea there, and you seem directly in texas what happened to health care taken away. Maternal mortality. Can you speak to whats happening in texas . Absolutely. Using our governor and state legislature both republicans access to reduce abortion and health care for women and families across our state. More than a quarter of the Family Planning clinics have been closed. Unrelated to an epidemic es more deadly im for women of color and many of you know this, but its shocking and bears repeating. Disparity today in America Black White America an america is greater than it was 1850. 15 years before the ab dole yigs slavery. We must have health care for all and Economic Justice for all but color, Home Health Care visits, which have been s and to improve outcome Life Expectancy and health we expect for le to every person. In making thes case about access to a free and safe legal abortion but its also access to a serve cal Cancer Screening and like mine and yours, its access to a provider at all. So an issue of life or death for country. This absolutely. Are there last words have you for us . That ust want you to know im grateful for the work that youre doing. He way youre elevating this conversation on a national stage. Your efforts to improve democracy to ensure that everyone is represented and eflected and our priorities realized. Givenk about georgia just to us. Thousands had not been purged by voter roles, we would not have signed an antichoice bill denying health care to women so lets support women in every state and part of the country. Thank you. Thank you, were moving up against afternoon break and im ou come back and hear from the last round this afternoon. 10 e going to give you a minute stretch break to dance a little bit. Stretch a little bit. Rest room or do anything you need to do. Stay in the theater if you can. Were going to start in ten minutes with our next candidate. Thank you. Be bernie so hurry
