They have been listening to noam chomsky and moronic individuals like michael moore. But the republicans in the establishment have no excuse. [applause] they say they are on the side of immutable, objective truth. They say they believe in the founding principles of this, the greatest nation on ones earth. But they get to this city, and they become politicians as usual. Can you imagine if any of our Founding Fathers had been told there would be americans elected representatives of their state and would stay in office in d. C. 30 plus years . They would not have bothered to fight the british. And you would all talk like me today. [laughter] it is disgraceful. That is what we are going to change this year. We are going to take on every swamp dweller. [applause] whether on the left or the right, they will be shown the door. And Representative Government will return. Before we talk about how that will be done, and i know steve has lots of things you will share about his plans, let me share with you a little bit about my time inside the white house. It was a high honor. It was a career pinnacle, to be asked to be a strategist and debit the assistant to this president. I would like to share with the ul little bit about who this man is. So that we can destroy all of the lies, all of the smears, from the fake news industrial complex. The first thing i met donald j. Trump in the summer of 2016, when i was invited into his office in new york to prepare for the president ial candidates debate. The thing that struck me is that when the door closed, it was just him, myself, and corey lewandowski. It was that this man is exactly the same behind closed doors as he is in public. There is no filter. There is no false d. C. Screen. There is no two faces. In d. C. , it is like a switch gets flipped, and this washington smile comes across of them. There is nothing like that in this man. What you see is what you get. He does not care what the New York Times things about him. He does not care what cnn thinks about him. And at least so. Those people do not represent america year they just do not represent america. So he is who he is. The thing that made me realize this is someone we can put our money on his of the first thing that was clear to me is that donald j. Trump is kryptonite to Political Correctness. He hates it with a passion. It is only somebody on his ilk could have won the election. Only somebody who could not care less about Political Correctness and was going to call out the fake news about their lives. So number one, he is who he is. Secondly, within minutes, it was clear to me this man understands we are at war. He understands the threat from groups like isis, understands the threat from countries like iran or china or russia. The most important thing of all, he wants to win the war with our enemies. That is the president. What happened in the last nine months . Here, i will cut you something from my childhood. I am sure youre familiar with one of his movies, red door. Red door is about cuba invading the United States, and a scrappy band of insurgents stand up to fight this juggernaut of communism. That is what happened november 8. On november 8, a man who was an outsider, never Held Public Office in his life, wiped the floor with establishment candidates. Not only did he defeat his establishment rivals, he then proceeded to defeat a woman who had officially spent 700 million on a campaign for a seat she thought was rightfully hers because of her gender and her last name. And he defeated her. [applause] as a result, when we moved into the white house a few months later, january 20, it was a scrappy band of insurgents who moved in. It was not a schlep of establishment gop candidates. It was like robin hood taking over the empire. A couple of people gain the reins of an administration that has several Million People who work for the federal government. The best description of what happened is the most leveraged hostile takeover in u. S. History. [applause] as a result, it is not surprising, and nobody should be surprised, that over the next few months, the massive establishment swamp treated us as antibodies and did everything they could to box is out, to fire lowerlevel individualists who were loyalists. Eventually, we realized the writing was on the wall. Steve and myself realized if we believe in november 8, if we really want to support president , the best way we can do that is from outside the building. [applause] so bottom line, relax, take a deep breath, count to 10. It will be all ok. This is not about the last eight months. It is about the next eight years. [applause] and then, it is about the following eight years under president pence. [applause] the fact is, the president is surrounded by people who have nothing to do with his original campaign. He has people in high office who not only would have been comfortable in the clinton administration, they would have been cabinet members in a clinton administration. It is ok. Why . Because i can tell you he does not just talk to people who have a government id badge. And the president is very loyal to those who are loyal to him. And he must understand, if you have to know one thing about this president , he is a pragmatist. Look at what he has done. Steve will talk about the Amazing Things he has done. Not only is he a pragmatist with the eye of a businessman, he is a patriot. He loves this country. [applause] i would like to ask for your assistance. If there was a good but here, i would swear on the bible. I would say there is not a racist bone nay, not a racist molecule in that mans body. [applause] the accusations against myself and steve, we take that as if you are not taking flak, youre not over the target, right . If the Washington Post or the New York Times or politico or cnn ever said anything nice about me, you should get your money back. But when the president of the United States is labeled a racist, xenophobic, and antisemite, when his grandchildren are orthodox jews, it is an outrage. I would like to call upon you as force multipliers to push back on the lies. According to him, President Trump disagrees with this, President Trump said he would endorse them. Money, prestige and the endorsement of the president , and he quit. Inis a good men and women alabama or holding Mitch Mcconnell accountable and they would hold bob corker accountable, too. They have said in the civil war , whye the Republican Party are you going after folks like deb fischer and heller who vote the right way . As bob corker has trashed the commanderinchief of our armed forces while we have many women in harms way. Senator in position of authority for the first time in history of the republic, has mocked and ridiculed the commanderinchief when we have kids in the field. Have i seen barrasso condemned that . Have i seen heller condemned that . You have not. You. Folks are coming for no one can run and hide from this. Making a few conservative votes and hiding is over. It is folks like you that have to tell folks this is not a science experiment, this is not an engineering exercise, you are free men and women in the greatest republic in the history of earth. [applause] why are we nationalists . It is not as no ethnonationalism, it is economic nationalism. It doesnt matter your ethnicity, your gender, your religion, your sexual preference, it does not matter. It does not matter. As long as you are a citizen of this republic, that is what matters. [applause] economic nationalism binds us together. Economic nationalism is the understanding we will bring jobs back, it is not the second law of thermodynamics why they left. There is no inexorable law that took the jobs to asia and those factories to asia and left us with gutted communities of opioid addicts. That was human agency, decisions of men and women that did that. And it is decisions of men and women that will bring the factories back and bring the jobs back. [applause] the smart folks on the democratic party, and trust me, there are smart folks there, they understand that. Politics arentity a loser. What you saw was a highly disciplined campaign run on populism and economic nationalism the rule of law. , hillary came out, she was on the beach raising money, they were running four corners offense. She came out after about a week, i was sitting in the war room. We had the tv sets and the men and women working on rapid response, she had not given a speech in a month. It was white supremacists, bannon, altright. I sat there and said, if that is what she is going to bring, we will run the tables on her. [applause] one thing about economic nationalism, and by the way, i understand we dont all agree on everything. There are plenty of folks for cato and heritage that we have to convert. [laughter] they dont agree that free trade is a radical idea. That no vibrant nation has ever really agreed with that. The chinese certainly dont, the japanese dont, the koreans dont. Thats why they have the manufacturing jobs, by the way. Economic nationalism, one of the parts of it, it is the centerpiece of the value voters. For too long, this school of economics had us thinking that everything is about the economy. You have to look at the jobless rate six weeks before the election, that will determine who wins. Everything is about gross domestic product. The Unemployment Rate and rate of growth. All of those statistics are important. That is not it at all. We are a Civic Society and a culture that has a capitalist free market system as our economy. But we are not in economy. You are not just units of production. You are free men and women in a Civic Society underpinned by a capitalist system, but where other people in the world dont practice capitalism, we have to be savvier than that. We have to be smarter. We will be. President trump has seen to that. His trade agenda. That is what won Us Pennsylvania and wisconsin and michigan and won michigan. St owon thats how you are going to win 400 electoral votes. Democrats understand they have to come back with an economic program, it will be trump light. President trump has had these ideas for 30 or 40 years. He is a very savvy businessman. He did not come to the party late. Let me tell you about President Trump. This is a guy worth billions of dollars, i dont know if it is 4, 5, 7, 10. At some point you have to quit counting. A beautiful wife, tremendous kids, great grandkids, a loving family. The friends he has are unbelievable. You see the friends and the love they have for him, who have hung out with him for decades. These people love him. He has business with the finest hotels in the world. He was buying a not just golf courses, but buying championship golf courses make even better and put them in the british open and the u. S. Open. Things that could be like as his could be legacies for him. He did not do this for any kind gratification, because let me tell you, you to you do not understand how they try to destroy him and how tough it is every day when they come after you. And they come after your family and kids and friends. They come after your business. They were not there to debate donald trump. Hillary clinton is going around the country with her book, she still cannot tell anybody why she should be president of the United States. [laughter] she can whine about all the bad things she thinks happen to her but she cannot make a convincing case of why she should be president. She cannot take on Donald Trumps ideas. Did not want to do that. They wanted to use the 2 billion just to destroy him. On the morning of the ninth, i think we won at 3 00 in the morning, that coalition with Reince Priebus and the rnc, we won. As i always knew we would. But the key that picked the lock in North Carolina, florida, pennsylvania, ohio, iowa, michigan and wisconsin, was you. [applause] ask tony perkins, he has the numbers, he will walk you through. The turnout of evangelical christians and conservatives catholics in this key districts is the difference in victory. [applause] i was most nervous about North Carolina. It was not the weekend before but the weekend before that, i was in North Carolina with the president , and mark meadows came up to me and said, we got this. I said, i dont know. He said, we got this. He says, the evangelicals are going doortodoor, getting the vote out, conservative catholics going doortodoor. The hobbits are going doortodoor in the shire. They are getting everybody out. That is why they fear you. Trust me, they know all of the math. They know what you did in alabama. On november 9, i will tell you one thing. We were a little bit island of misfit toys. It only came together in 88 days. But i will tell you, and i had a conversation with Jeff Sessions onetime when he was under the most pressure at doj, i said, is there any doubt in your mind that the hand of providence was critical to our victory . He said, absolutely. Divine providence worked that victory, just like Divine Providence worked for judge moore. [applause] the hand of providence does not work through some sort of magic or voodoo, it is human agency, and that is you. Were going to have a lot of these conversations and a lot of fights ahead. The first one is, before we can get to the progressive democrats and southern poverty law center, and all these folks we need to take on, and we will take them on and stand them down, ok . There is no doubt about that. [applause] there is no doubt about that. But there is a time and season for everything. Right now, it is a season of war against a gop establishment. [applause] it is no longer acceptable to come and pat you on the head and tell you everything will be fine, just get these guys in office. Those days are over. We need to move with urgency. The president of the United States deserves the respect and support. [applause] of all of the insults that senator corker threw at the commanderinchief during a time of war, the worst thing, i think it was someone at the Washington Post and someone from the New York Times, they buried the lede, corker said he gave up the game. He said there are only one or two senators who have respect or admiration for President Trump. The rest of them talk like i do behind closed doors. So all of you folks that are so concerned you are going to get defeated in primaries, there is a time for mea culpa. You can come to a stick and condemn senator corker. You can come to a microphone and say i am not going to vote for Mitch Mcconnell for majority leader. [applause] and you can come to a stick and say, im going to do away with the filibuster so the president can implement his program. [applause] senator barrasso, senator fisher and heller and hatch, these are good folks, they may reconsider. Until that time, they are coming for you. The president needs our support more than ever. Look at what happened, and here is what happens when the president knows he has your support. Lets have as part of this discussion, the president had some Bad Information and advice given to him and had some folks, the kind of things that were not so. I told him what was going to happen in alabama, where i was going to stand. Lets look at what has happened since alabama. A 70 Point Program for daca, including 20 deal killers. Just to make sure that durban and nancy pelosi got the joke, weight to citizenship. No pathway to citizenship. I explain this for my days as a young 22yearold working for the Reagan Administration and how he inspired my generation and so many that came after, all the way up until we gave eric cantor a two by four across the in 2014. Face donald trump did was an because hillary bad candidate. He did not win because he was a celebrity or selffunded. He won because he was unafraid to hold up a mirror to the faces they hadtisan been demanding that they do. That is why he won. E won because of the issues who voted for open borders . Who voted to the industrialized dustrialize the west . Who voted to completely up and upend the understanding of gender in the United States . That is what we did because we tended to give people the benefit of the doubt. Football, we the became Charlie Brown election cycle after election cycle until we could not take it anymore. Our back was about to break. We saw the country was about to be lost forever. Donald trump understood that uniquely, and he followed in the ,ine of others that came before going all the way back to Richard Nixon and believing that we have to listen to the silent majority to law and order, all the way up to Ronald Reagan surprising gop establishment i almost winning the nomination and been coming along like a hurricane in 1980 and blowing who ridiculed him, demeaned him and said he was just an actor. He shook up the country, brought us back from the brink, helped to shape the soviet union, and he set a blueprint, a conservative, oftentimes ulist group went blueprint. In the book i describe what happened in 1980. As reagan was leaving office him of this divide was not created by donald trump. This divide has been there. 1988, as reagan was leaving office, a lot of us were going on to do other things. Some of my colleagues wanted to stay to help the bush administration. They did not know that slowly but surely the reagan people would be purged from the ranks. Why would they be purged . I describe a particular incident that is disturbing. Reagan philosophically, was on a different plane than george h w bush. He respected him and picked him as his Vice President , but reagan beat uniquely understood the heart and soul of the american working class. He understood that without social conservatives and defense and populists altogether, the coalition would crumble. Indeed, we saw it beginning to crumble in 1992. The came along then . Itchfork pat buchanan warning that if we had open borders and trade agreements that did not benefit the american working class, the american understanding would itself be endangered. It did not work for them, their kids. They were being treated as the enemies of the government. Pat buchanan was not successful, but lets not forget whether it did theyr ross, boy garner a lot of support and did they set the stage for what would, all those years later with. Even george w. Bush ran on a humble platform. It was welcome news to the voters of the time. 1988, the institute wrote a long letter criticizing Ronald Reagan. I like a lot of the people at reagan asthey branded know nothing protectionist on trade. Why . He thought it was worthwhile to say that American Company called harley davidson. Withinght it was well our rights and protecting our people and businesses to stop a 45 temporary tariffs on cheap japanese motorcycles that came into the United States. We have one of the most successful American Company still in business today. That was wildly popular. It was a populist Ronald Reagan. Since when is it bad to be a protectionist . You are conserving something. Republican president s throughout our history understood there would be certain times where tariffs are necessary to level the Playing Field in an international marketplace. When our companies are being hammered with tariffs and barriers, we let everyone come peep. Ith nary a p the mood of the gop was very antitariff. Today, all these years later, what is donald trump doing . He has assembled the most impressive, the most qualified trade team we have ever seen in american government. The most incredible people. They do not get much credit. I will not repeat all the stuff that bannon said. He is now our u. S. Trade representative. He is phenomenal. I think for the first time in him and we now have wilbur ross and commerce is helping. Even von is the general counsel over there. We have amazing people. They are doing something called a 301 investigation on china. It is under the fair trade act. A 301 investigation into the theft of American Intellectual property that is being done on a daily basis by china. We got chinese cheap imports stealing our intellectual property, American Made ingenuity. Taking it, pirating it, making it overseas, sending it over here. Everything from pharmaceutical to countertops. Cheap stuff is probably poisoning us. Trump administration said they will not get away with it. The korean freetrade deal, nafta, all these agreements need to be revisited, reexamined, and if necessary rewritten. If they do not agree with the rewrite, repealed. That is what needs to happen. This trip set the stage for the type of president i believe he can be and will be. That should be welcome news to all the social conservatives listening to me across the United States and in this room. I was proud to march at the annual march for life this year in january. Was so heartened to actually happy have our Vice President address the march for life live, not on a videotape. He was live and he was there. Talk about inspiring. Have a policy of resistance. They do not really have an agenda for america. I would say, unfortunately, that affliction can also be found in the Republican Party. If you ask the average person on the street, what our Political Parties tried to do in washington . What are the republicans about . It is kind of confusing to people. I think the simplicity and clarity of messaging is so important at the white house and on capitol hill. Right now, we know what this administration once to do. America first. Very clear. What are we going to do . What are we going to do in Foreign Policy . Put america first. Trade policy . Put america first. The culture wars . America first. , wethe issues in between can understand where the Trump Administration once to take us to take us. He is doing his best under difficult circumstances. He will not get everything right , but time and time again you will see this administration is going to give voice to those who have not had a voice in many years. The silent majority strikes again.
