Just like Christian Tabernacle. With commodities, with things that emilys need. I was driving over here and the good news is they have taken some of that debris off the curbs. We were in session this week. Last weekend i kept saying, everybodys possessions is out in front of their house. As soon as i can get them to pick it up and get it out of the way, that means we are rebuilding. Working on your house, making sure your turning it back into school and you can get back to work. To doot expect the church it. As you know, groep in a church. My wife did. Together in the same church. Just onot christians sunday. We are christians seven days a week and we serve. The good news is today that we had some issues about people in our district not being able to offer fema assistance. We had almost two dozen fema fulks with their laptops. A lot of folks in our district, the tollfree numbers are due get to. They just do not use laptops. We can get them a number and follow it up. I joked the other day, i said, you will need to be able to follow your account. Some dont use laptops. But i cant say thank you to the church enough. Were going to continue. We have a lot of sources, obviously. We have, the red cross, a group of folks sending literally truckloads of commodities into texas. We will make sure we get them here, too. But i dont know if you have any room this is our senior pastor. The interesting thing is all of this, most of these tables will be depleted in a few hours. The need is great. We do need more supplies. We will start getting some over here from a warehouse near greens point. The Teamsters Union partnered with the owner of the warehouse. There was an article in the paper yesterday or the day before about. They are bringing literally truckloads of food and commodities, diapers, everything else. We will make sure they were not over. If anyone in your family has a Social Security number that is how you can access fema. If your child has a Social Security number that is i you can do it so be prepared. Fema will ask you that when they are signing it in. Again, a lot of the information, love the help you can get, you dont need to have a fema account. You can get commodities are already. Like i said, if any child or adult in the household has a Social Security number, you qualify. Spanish] as long as we have one person in the household who has a Social Security number, that is enough. So do not worry about it again. All you need is one. Ive now we are going to start handing out the numbers and you will be called in numbered order so we will start at the front. Keep that number. She would like to know about cars that have been flooded. Is there any Assistance Available for persons who had their cars flooded. Can you give us some information . Yes. I am assuming that you guys have comprehensive coverage on your cars . Is that correct . Bethere could potential he coverage assistance of available through fema but that would be if you would qualify under the other needs assistance program. You should register with fema and go through that process to determine if you are eligible for that assistance. Andnd, can you go through see if you can get the person on the line. A question about a permit. While you are pulling that person up i will start the questions. Can you hear . Thank you for giving me this opportunity. We have property off of federal road and i10. Flooded. Was we want to know, do we need a builders permit to start back to getting the house in livable condition or can we as a Property Owner go and acquire a permit for building . We will have someone respond. This is bryant with the National FloodInsurance Program. Do not this property is located in a special flood hazard area . Could you here, maam . Is your property in a flood zone . I think we may have lost her. Ok. Lets assume both sides. I will address it both ways. There are local communities that in partnership participate with the National FloodInsurance Program and in order to do so, they agreed to adopt a method and some regulations which the regulations are designed to help make development and redevelopment safe from flooding. That process is carried out and in themitting process of promoting they look at the design of the proposed projects and so forth. In general, if your house flooded it would be advisable to go to your local Community Development department and Building Department and inquire about a permit and while you are there, inquire about the Floodplain Development permit because if you are in the special flood area, it is required that you have a Floodplain Development permit to repair a flood damaged home. If you are outside special flood hazard area, it would be the community discretion as to whether or not they wanted to require a permit. So it is advisable to go and check. No. Are we going to do more . It all depends. I am real proud of the way people in harris county, houston, the surrounding communities came together. Look, the congressman and commission believe, change israel. No city in america could have taken 50 inches of rain. Not new york, not part of. I think these events are going to happen more frequently. I hope our Community Comes together and is willing to stand up and it is going to take money. Very few problems come across our collective desks that do not get money. Part of whether or not we do things we ought to do will depend upon whether or not the public has the appetite to pay for it. As we close out, we are examining this in congress and we do want to do some things to mitigate and 11 eight a lot of the flooding. The reservoirs love to be addressed. We are currently talking about the possibility of creating it in reservoir. We would like to make sure that we present prevent this from happening again to the extent he can be prevented but when you get 50 inches of water, that is gallons amillion told we received.
