CRPA honors officials earning recognition

Cherokee Recreation and Parks Agency officials were praised for earning national recognition during the most recent CRPA Advisory Board meeting.
Athletics Coordinator Camille Thomas, Parks Division Director Jordan Wood, Recreation Division Director Frankie Sanders and Athletics Division Director Shawn Schumacher recently earned their Certified Parks and Recreation Professional certification from the National Recreation and Park Association.
“The CPRP exam is a rigorous program and consists of a 125 question exam that assesses the core knowledge of job-related tasks,” Cherokee Recreation and Parks Agency Director Jay Worley said. “Attaining the designation shows that those individuals have met education and experience qualifications, and illustrated commitment to the profession, as well as the knowledge and understanding of key concepts in the field.”
