Trying to escape the blues
of his strange northern hometown
that has changed.
From a delta variant
born of Mississippi mud
The hopes of a new State of Freeing
from The State of Suppression
and Commanded choices.
There were no bullets
a false alarm,
Recalling the memory
Beale Street Blues.
his ears strain to hear what was.
The band plays softly in his head.
Our southern comforter is safe today.

In 1986, Bonnie Chernin attended her first pro-life convention where she met author Ann Saltenberger and received a copy of her outstanding book, "Every Woman Has the Right to Know the Dangers of Legal Abortion." This book inspired Bonnie to become actively involved in the pro-life movement.
