ZAGREB, 28 January 2021 – The Croatian men’s handball team has a new coach after Lino Čevar stepped down this week following Croatia’s early exit at the 2021 World Championships in Egypt. 
Croatia failed to reach the quarterfinals after losses to Argentina and Denmark in the second round. 
On Thursday, the Croatian Handball Federation confirmed that the Čevar’s assistant,
Hrvoje Horvat, will take over as coach of the senior men’s team. 
The Board of Directors accepted Čevar’s resignation and their were three candidates for the job – Horvat, Slavko Goluža and Ivano Balić.
