Phoenix police said a mother was arrested and booked after leaving her baby in a hot car for several hours last month.
At around 1 p.m., on April 13, officers responded to reports of an injured infant near 83rd Avenue and Camelback Road. Phoenix police found a baby in a parked car inside a garage.
Cristina H. Valente, 35, was booked April 16 for child abuse and negligence following the incident, police said.
Officers learned Valente had been left her baby in the car since 8:30 a.m. that morning, police said.
The 4-month-old baby girl was taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said.
