Crews search for murder victim's body along Cascade Mountain highways

LEAVENWORTH, Wash. - Teams are out searching along highways in the Cascade Mountains for the body of a King County man who they believe was dumped there after he was stabbed to death last fall.
The search started Wednesday along a 13-mile stretch of Highway 2 near Leavenworth, and crews are back out again on Thursday with K-9 police dogs.
Detectives say the victim, identified as Tianyu “Tommy” Lyu, was murdered in late November 2020 in Newcastle, and that a former Newcastle man confessed to police in China that he stabbed Lyu during a drug-related argument. That suspect is now in custody in China.
