Crews searching for missing boater at Lake Wylie
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Steele Creek Volunteer Fire Department, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, and other agencies are searching for a missing boater on Lake Wylie.
The 73-year-old man was reported missing Wednesday night near Copperhead Island. Search officials tell our reporter on the scene they found the missing man’s boat near Copperhead Island with all of his belongings.
Search crews are on the water looking on shore and near coves, but also using sonar technology to search the water. They say as of now, this is a search and recovery mission.
