Creatinine-based eGFR levels of 60 mL/min/1.73 m2 or lower are less strongly associated with adverse outcomes in older adults compared with younger adults. Among kidney function estimating equations, eGFR based on creatinine-cystatin C may be the most precise and clinically useful for older adults.
