More than 20 years ago, Tupelo’s Emma Cook helped create – and still organizes – Itawamba County’s annual celebration of the life and legacy of U.S. Civil Rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. She believes King’s message is just as important today as it was when he was preaching it in the 1960s, and she’s doing her part to ensure his words are never forgotten.
