Two men from New Bern were arrested by Craven County sheriff's during a traffic stop recently and are accused of selling a variety of different drugs.
Deputies with the Craven County Sheriff’s Office Crime Suppression Unit (CSU) pulled over a car on U.S. 17 near Neal Boulevard in Vanceboro. The two men, Rhysante Ellis, 24, and Tyric McCarter, 23 were detained.
During the search of the car, deputies found a stolen gun, approximately 69.17 grams of MDMA, a half ounce of marijuana, 3.3 grams of cocaine and drug paraphernalia, according to a news release from the CCSO.
Ellis, of Wahoo Drive, is charged with felony trafficking MDMA, felony possession with intent to sell/deliver MDMA, felony possession with intent sell/deliver cocaine, felony possession with intent sell/deliver marijuana, felony possession firearm by a felon, felony possession of a stolen firearm, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
