Suing Spotify – the streaming service with a reputation for paying pennies to musicians – sounds more fun than it might actually be.
But at least David Lowery earned some credit at work for doing so.
Not only is Lowery the lead singer of two notable rock bands, Camper Van Beethoven and Cracker, he’s also a college lecturer for a music-business program.
So when it comes to the business of music, Lowery probably knows more than the average rocker, and perhaps that’s why he has been an advocate for recording artists fighting for their fair share in the digital era.
