RESIDENTS have been asked to give cows and other livestock their own ‘social distance’ as they are released onto Minchinhampton and Rodborough Commons this week.
With just a few days until cows and other animals begin to be released onto Minchinhampton and Rodborough Commons for the summer season, the Minchinhampton and Rodborough Commons Advisory Committee is asking residents to remember to give livestock their own ‘social distance’ when crossing the commons by car or on foot.
Each year, Marking Day on May 13 marks the date on or after which graziers can release their livestock to roam the ancient grasslands for the summer. The free roaming cattle are essential to keep the grasslands rich in nature.
