COVID vaccines available at some South Bend-area Meijer, Kroger and Walmart stores by appointment

COVID-19 vaccines will soon be available at some Meijer, Kroger and Walmart stores for eligible Hoosiers to receive their doses, Indiana officials announced Wednesday.
At Gov. Eric Holcomb’s weekly coronavirus update, State Health Commissioner Dr. Kristina Box announced the select stores have begun offering vaccines, or will soon.
Participating stores can be viewed at ourshot.in.gov. Appointments are required.
Box said that while Walmart will use the state’s vaccination scheduling system, Meijer and Kroger will use their own registration systems. Meaning, she said, the 211 call center cannot make appointments for vaccines at Meijer and Kroger stores.
“We know this may cause some confusion,” she said. “Please remember these vaccinations are only available to eligible Hoosiers and only by appointment.”
