COVID vaccine OK’d for younger ages. Here’s what it means for N.J. kids.

A 4-year-old New Jersey child died of COVID-19 a year ago.
And while Gov. Phil Murphy on Monday said the number of residents under 18 who have died from the virus in New Jersey has remained low — so far, seven — the state is hoping to move forward soon on plans to vaccinate its younger population.
Federal Food & Drug Administration regulators on Monday expanded use of Pfizer’s shot to those as young as 12, a move that the governor nodded to earlier in the day, before it was finalized.
