SANTA ROSA BEACH — Gratitude and even a touch of jubilation were evident Wednesday as Walton County began vaccinating senior citizens against the still-spreading coronavirus.
"It's just a blessing, that's all," said Eddie Williamson as he and his wife, Joyce, emerged from the Coastal Branch clinic of the Florida Department of Health in Walton County shortly after 8 a.m. after getting their COVID-19 vaccination.
"It was easy, just like taking a flu shot," he said.
The Williamsons were among the first people age 65 and over to be vaccinated as Walton began administering the vaccine after a rocky start in getting the 65-and-over population signed up for the first of the required two doses developed by the pharmaceutical firm Moderna.
