LAFAYETTE, Ind. — While the number of deaths to COVID-19 in Tippecanoe County has remained at 212 for several days, the county's seven-day positivity rate for unique individuals continues to hover around 13%, according to the Indiana State Department of Health, more than triple the rate reported as late as March.
Wednesday's seven-day positivity rate for unique individuals — the percentage of people who test positive, regardless of how many times a single person has been tested — was 13.5%, after dropping down to 12.6% Tuesday. Monday's rate was 13.2%.
The overall positivity rate, which had remained at 4.3% since last Thursday, inched up to 4.5% Tuesday and stayed the same for Wednesday. The county processed 107 new tests the previous day, for a total of 111,652 tests since the pandemic started.
