As I stagger up the steps to the Panagia Hozoviotissa monastery on the Greek island of Amorgos, a feisty spring sun blazes down on honey-hued crumbling rocks that look like they’ve been toyed with by titans.
The 1200-year-old monastery (Greece’s second oldest) clings vertiginously mid-cliff; more than 300 metres below, the indigo-blue Aegean Sea fans out.
