"I will be frank and tell you we’ve had some of those same hesitancy questions even amongst our own staff," Haley said in a conference call with area elected officials and community leaders. "We’re barely just over 50 to 60 percent of our staff that are vaccinated at this point and it’s creating its own unique challenges."
He said he walked through the UF Health campus on Friday with a pharmacist talking to employees who hadn't been vaccinated, offering to give them the shot on the spot.
Haley said among patients being treated at UF Health Jacksonville, 90 percent did not get the vaccine. He said 5 percent had not completed all the doses for their vaccinations or had not yet gone long enough from the last dose to achieve fully vaccinated status.
