NEW DELHI: The overall usage of masks has seen a drastic decline even as community mobility has increased significantly with some areas even witnessing resumption of activities touching pre-Covid level, health officials said and cautioned complacency can result in loss of gains in the fight against Covid-19.
“Analysis shows a projected decline in the use of face masks as we resume activities. We should incorporate the use of facemasks in our lives as a new normal,” health ministry joint secretary Lav Agarwal said. Agarwal said community mobility data shows there has been a rise in mobility in the country in comparison to May 20 of this year when most of the country was under lockdown. “The Covid-19 pandemic is still amidst us,” he added.
