According to Dutchess County data as of Saturday, the most recent day for which the county shared information on its online dashboard, there were 516 active cases among residents, though only 20 were hospitalized. Dutchess has not had fewer than 20 COVID patients hospitalized since Nov. 9. The seven-day average positivity rate in the county was down to 1.89%, its lowest point since the first week in November.
Dutchess had not gone seven days without a death since late October. It had not gone a full week, from Sunday to Saturday, without a death since late September. As of Sunday 442 residents in all have died of reasons relating to the virus.
