The Ohio Department of Health's new Daily COVID-19 report shows less than five-thousand new cases of the virus on Monday. Public officials said there were four-thousand-312 confirmed coronavirus cases, marking the first time in three weeks that daily positives fell below five-thousand. There were also 81 new deaths in the report and 162 more hospitalizations. Ohioans in Group 1-B will begin receiving COVID-19 vaccines today, with officials estimating around 360-thousand people in Group 1-A have received at least one dose of vaccine.
Fayette County Public Health is now accepting pre-registration for Group Phase 1B, or those who are 65 years of age or older to get vaccinated againts covid-19. The Department prefers those in Group 1B to sign up online to help keep its office lines open. A pre-registration link can be found on the Fayette County Public Health facebook page. If you need to pre-register by phone, simply call 740-335-5910. Once pre-registered, a health department staff member will reach out to you by phone to schedule your appointment. Those in need of transportation to their appointment once it has been scheduled, should call Fayette County Community Action.
