San Bernardino County had confirmed 293,835 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began as of Monday, and the death toll is now 4,237.
San Bernardino County, which is the state's fifth-most populous county with 2.2 million people, has the third-highest number of cases of any county in California. It trails Los Angeles County — the nation's most populous county with about 10 million people, which leads the state with more than 1.2 million reported cases — and Riverside County, which has about 2.5 million people and just over 295,000 cases.
San Bernardino County's positivity rate was 2% as of last Tuesday (over a seven-day average). The county's adjusted case rate is 3.4 new cases per 100,000 residents. This means the county is in the orange tier (which allows non-essential indoor businesses to open with limitations), in the state's color-coded, four-tiered reopening plan.
