COVID-19 Update: 587 new cases in Randolph County over the past week
Randolph County reported 587 new cases of COVID-19, totaling 12,095 confirmed cases and 190 deaths as of Monday, according to the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. Randolph County continues to be designated as a “red” county on the state’s County Alert System, the most critical tier for COVID-19 spread followed by orange and yellow for substantial and significant spread, respectively. The spread of COVID-19 has had a “high impact” on hospitals in the area.
Statewide, the NC Department of Health and Human Services reported 799,279 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 2,339 people hospitalized, based on the reported numbers on Monday.
