JOHOR BARU: Johor recorded three new clusters on Thursday (Jan 28), with 99 cases from the new clusters, namely Jalan Faizal, Jalan Satria and Jalan Dewani Satu.
State health and environment committee chairman R. Vidyanathan said from the 99 cases, 45 were from Jalan Faizal cluster in Pontian and 38 and 16 from Jalan Satria and Jalan Dewani Satu in Johor Baru clusters respectively.
“On Thursday, Johor recorded 717 new Covid-19 cases in Malaysia, ’’ he said in a statement released here on Friday (Jan 29).
Vidyananthan said of the 717, about 71 were from existing clusters, 99 from the three new clusters, 348 from closed contact screening and 199 from other screenings.
He said as of Jan 29, there were 11,204 Covid-19 positive cases in the state involving locals, while 7,858 cases were foreigners.
