Covid-19: Portugal Update, 18 January, 2021

Portugal has today registered a further 167 deaths, a new 24 hour maximum deaths related to covid-19, and 6,702 new cases of infection with the new coronavirus, according to the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) .
According to the epidemiological bulletin of DGS Portugal, today exceeded 9,000 deaths in total related to covid-19, since the beginning of the pandemic, in March 2020, when 9,028 deaths were recorded, and a total of 556,503 infections by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
The bulletin also reveals that today there have been more than 5,000 hospital admissions for covid-19, with 5,165 people hospitalised, 276 more than on Sunday, of which 664 were in intensive care units, that is, 17 more, two values ??that represent new highs of the pandemic phase.
