COVID-19 pandemic worsens housing disparities in Boston

Eviction filings on rise in Massachusetts
"Sometimes I can’t sleep at night because I’m very scared that I might lose this whole eviction case and that we might end up homeless on the street,” said Jade Brooks about her current living situation.

Jade Brooks and her family are facing eviction in Boston. She requested that we do not show her face.
Brooks and her mother were already working hard to pay rising rent prices, but when the pandemic struck last spring, Brooks’ mother lost her job. Worries about the virus, unemployment and her 8-year-old cousin’s online schooling came to the forefront. One pressing worry lessened though: Whether or not they could stay in their home.
