Ahmedabad: According to hospital authorities, 80% of the patients who come to the hospitals to get admitted are in need of oxygen.
Amidst the surge of positive patients and shortage of beds, there were many complaints made around the city where patients were denied admission. One such patient was Sudhir Jadav, a resident of Prabhat Chowk, who died at Civil Hospital on Friday morning.
“His RT-PCR report was negative. But he had developed extreme breathlessness on Thursday night. We called EMRI 108 at 9 pm to hospitalize him and were told to wait. My daughter took him to AMC-run hospital in a private vehicle but they declined to admit any patient who was not brought by 108 ambulances,” said Sudhir's wife Rajshree as per
