Northumberland County is confirming a positive case of COVID-19 at the Golden Plough Lodge.
In a media release issued on Wednesday night, the County says an employee at the long-term care home has tested positive for the virus. As a result, the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge (HKPR) District Health Unit has declared an outbreak at the facility. (Under Ministry guidelines, any facility with at least one positive case, is considered to be in an outbreak, once the test result is confirmed.)
Administrator Bill Detlor confirms that more than 95 per cent of the long-term care home’s residents are fully-vaccinated against the virus. He adds that all staff who wished to be vaccinated, have also received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Detlor says that the employee who tested positive, is now at home in self-isolation, adding that all COVID-19 outbreak management protocols are currently in-effect at the facility.
