In the Nanaimo-Ladysmith district, Brechin Elementary School had exposures on March 4, 5, 8, 9, 10 and 12.
Island Health defines exposure at a school as when a single individual with a confirmed case of the virus attends classes during their infectious period.
The health authority will contact individuals directly if there as a need to self-isolate. Parents can monitor their children for symptoms.
As of Monday afternoon, 12 schools were on Island Health’s list of recent exposures. Schools are removed 14 days after the most recent date of exposure.
