On Tuesday, April 20, Alberta Health Services reported Fort Saskatchewan had 99 active cases of the coronavirus. There have been 737 cases in the Fort since the pandemic began, with 618 recoveries and 20 deaths.
Nearby, Strathcona County reported 76 active cases, Sherwood Park reported 265 active cases, and Sturgeon County reported 103 active cases.

Local schools have been widely affected by the virus. St. John Paul II School has reported an outbreak of over 10 cases. James Mowat and Fort Saskatchewan Elementary School have been placed on alert, with 2-4 cases each.
