An additional general budget support package of $55million to assist the Fijian Government in their continued management of the impacts of COVID-19 was announced today by the Australian government.
This was after the signing of the agreement in Suva today by Fiji’s Minister for Economy, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, and Australian High Commissioner to Fiji, John Feakes, under the strict supervision of Ministry of Health & Medical Services – Fiji officials.
According to a post on the Commission’s Facebook page, “the impacts of COVID-19 have taken a toll on both of our countries, our economies, and our livelihoods and we are pleased to be supporting the Fijian Government as they continue their commendable efforts to manage the current COVID-19 outbreak alongside the MHMS team”.
