Prince Edward County is asking for public feedback as it considers introducing an area-specific development charges (DC) background study and by-law for Wellington. A short online survey is posted on the Prince Edward County website, along with the draft background study. The survey will remain open until Tuesday, January 19.
The County must expand water and wastewater services to support potential future residential growth in Wellington. To recover the growth-related costs of expanding these services, the municipality is considering an area-specific DC background study and by-law.
A report prepared by Watson & Associates Economists Ltd. Identifies Wellington as an area which could experience substantial growth in the coming years.
