County hosts public hearing to close out CARES Act funding through state

To close out the Michigan Community Development Block Grant funding for the CARES — Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security — Act funding Cheboygan County received, a public hearing was hosted May 11.
This public hearing was at the Cheboygan County Board of Commissioners meeting to gather input from county residents on how the money was used throughout the county by officials, as required by the state to be able to close out the grant funding.
The money received was used for COVID-19 related expenses around the county building and county facilities, such as the Cheboygan County Council on Aging's programs.
