Regardless of a pandemic, 2020 was a busy construction year throughÂÂout Hardin County,.
Hardin County, Vine Grove, Radcliff and ElizaÂbethtown all saw an increase from 2020 over 2019, despite all of the challenges presented by COVID-19.
Despite the county government building being closed from March 17 to May 18, Hardin County Planning Director Adam King said his office was able to continue serving the public by email, phones, fax and through the use of their online permit portal.
The county processed 548 building permits for the year. This is the highest number of building permits since 2010, King said. In 2019, they issued 482. Total reported construction cost for all building permits was $48,304,728.
