Councillors ask to review flooding response – with invite set for Natural Resources Wales to explain “failings”
A group of councillors have called for more information into the response after floods hit large parts of the county borough last month and how such events can be prevented in the future.
Properties in the Bangor-on-Dee and the Berse Road area of New Broughton were evacuated after heavy rainfall and snow caused by Storm Christoph caused flooding across the area.
Now councillor Nigel Williams (Gwenfro), supported by councillors Alan Edwards (New Broughton), Paul Rogers (Brymbo), Paul Blackwell (Plas Madoc), Trevor Bates (Glyn Ceiriog) and I David Bithell (Stansty) have put forward a topic request form for the homes and environments scrutiny committee to discuss how such flooding can be prevented in future.
