Council 'hopeful' no more homes in Warrington will need to evacuated tonight
A SLIGHT improvement in weather could mean no more residents will need to evacuate their homes today, Thursday.
Hundreds of people in Warrington have had to flee rising floodwater following record volumes of rain.
Residents in Bewsey, Dallam, Longford, Lymm and Sankey Bridges have been worst affected.
But large areas of Great Sankey, Penketh, Callands, Westbrook, Croft and Culcheth have also been hit.
A spokesman for Warrington Borough Council said: "Council officers continue to be on site at affected areas of Warrington, alongside the emergency services, environment agency and other partners.
