DAGUPAN CITY - The Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and the Dagupan City Police seized from a high-value target (HVT) suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP128,000 during a buy-bust operation here Friday. In an interview, Pangasinan Police Provincial Office information officer Lt. Col. Ferdinand de Asis identified the suspect as Jo Federico Buenavista, 38, a resident of Barangay Guiguilonen in Mangaldan town. "Yielded from the suspect during the buy-bust operation in Barangay Bonuan Binloc here at 12:48 a.m. were 11 sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated weight of 20 grams, other drug paraphernalia, and the marked money used in the operation, among others," de Asis said. The operation was recorded with the use of a body-worn camera and an alternative recording device by the designated data custodian. The suspect was brought to the Urdaneta Crime Laboratory Office for drug testing, while the confiscated evidence and the marked money were submitted for laboratory examination and ultraviolet test, he added. De Asis said the suspect was considered an HVT because he was a repeat offender who was charged with violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165, or the 2002 Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, in 2017, 2018, and 2020. Cases for violation of RA 9165 were being readied against him. (PNA) }
