The Bengaluru police and members of the
Animal Husbandry Department on two different occasions rescued camels that were being brought for slaughtering. The trucks were intercepted, and the authorities rescued eleven camels while two of them died while being transported in vehicles for slaughtering, a senior Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) official said.
