Cops pelted with bottles as they shut down illegal New Year's Eve rave as hundreds trash 500-year-old Essex church

RECKLESS revellers trashed a 500-year-old church during an illegal New Year's Eve rave.
They were among thousands slammed last night by Home Secretary Priti Patel for putting lives at risk by flouting Covid rules.

The parties came as coronavirus cases continued to spike
Vile yobs targeted cops who tried to break up their party at the disused All Saints Church near Basildon, Essex.
They launched drinks and ice cubes at officers, told them to "f*** off" and chanted as they caused £1,000 in damage.
The yobs barricaded a door to stop cops from getting in while music blared.
