Broome quickly pulled the phone away and appeared to delete the image.
Two months later, following a search warrant, police searched Broome’s home, seizing multiple electronic devices including a laptop and mobile phone.
Police found “child modelling” images on the laptop and phone.
On the laptop, a folder titled “girls and girls” contained 248 images of girls aged between 6 and 16, “scantily clad and posed in sexualised manners”.
Broome’s phone contained 48,000 images, 45 of these were similar to the images described above.
Broome was unable to provide an explanation to the police, only that; “I shouldn't have done it in the first place”. He said he had personal issues that need addressing.
