Poultry farmers within a 1 km radius of the infected zone are being compensated for the loss due to culling of their poultry and other birds, eggs and poultry feed.
While the country is still fighting a deadly virus, an outbreak of
bird flu was reported recently. The test results for some areas of
Maharashtra were found to be positive. However, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying has advised not to panic and believe in rumours.
