Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma, has urged young people in the Northeast to "look beyond reservation" and embrace a global mindset when it comes to competing for jobs. His comments came at a programme organised on the International Day of the World's Indigenous People by the North East Indigenous People's Forum in Shillong, a gathering he hoped would contribute to finding peaceful solutions such as in Manipur. Sangma also suggested the forum should ensure indigenous knowledge and practices are documented for posterity.
