Passengers arriving at Heathrow on Monday at the start of the Government’s new hotel quarantine system spoke of “huge queues” and “confusion” for people coming from high risk countries.
From 4am any passengers returning to England from “red list” countries such as Brazil or South Africa are obliged by law to quarantine in designated hotels for 11 nights.
The cost for a quarantine hotel stay is £1,750 for a single adult.
