Anne Arundel County police are asking for the public's help in tracking down a man who they said sexually assaulted a woman.Investigators said a woman was driven by someone she didn't know Wednesday night from Elkridge Landing Road in Linthicum to Glen Burnie, where she was attacked at knifepoint."Our hearts go out. This was a very traumatic event," Anne Arundel County police Sgt. Kam Cooke said.Instead of driving the woman to her desired destination, police said the man took her minutes away to a parking lot off Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie."(The) suspect parked by a dumpster and then got her out of the car and sexually assaulted her," Cooke said.Police said a witness acted immediately during the attack, going to a nearby hotel to call 911."With a weapon being displayed and being threatened with a weapon, it's just a horrible situation," Cooke said. When officers arrived, they said the attacker already got away, taking with him some of the victim's personal belongings, but leaving behind some clues."We are searching for a suspect at this time," Cooke said. "We're certainly asking for the community's assistance."Police provided to 11 News a computer-generated sketch of the man who they describe as short with dark, curly hair and a goatee, possibly between the ages of 25 and 30 and roughly 5 feet and 6 feet 8 inches tall. His getaway car is said to be a dark-colored Hyundai sedan."We're certainly glad that the victim was able to make it through it and be a survivor to this and give us the accounts that occurred," Cooke said.Police hope to follow leads to the culprit while sharing a warning for others."Always err on the side of caution. We always offer that up to our citizens, if it just doesn't feel right, then it's probably not right," Cooke said.
