Mr Haruna Iddrisu, the Minority Leader, said the composition of the current Parliament demands consensus building, regarding business in the House, to ensure good governance.
He said it was important for both the Majority and Minority sides to work together to meet the development needs of the people, whilst strengthening the country’s democracy.
Mr Iddrisu, Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale South, was speaking at an event dubbed: Roundtable Discussion on Ghana’s Eighth Parliament under the Fourth Republic: Leveraging on its Composition for New Reforms.
The event, held in Tamale, was organised by the Ghana Centre for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana), and brought together stakeholders to reflect on the opportunities and prospects for strengthening the oversight and accountability roles of Parliament.
