KINGSTON — For the Benjamin family, Christmas arrived a little bit early.
From the porch of their Main Street home, the family watched as a load of gifts arrived not by reindeer-drawn sleigh, but by police car on Wednesday afternoon.
Gifts made possible by donations from Kingston police and others included a television, a Chromebook, a dollhouse and other toys.
“It made me feel really good, and I actually had tears in my eyes, just to see how happy they were,” Tracy Benjamin said of her three children. “I just feel really good that people still help each other out.”
Police Chief Richard Kotchik said the department worked with DJ Donnie Evans to make the event happen.
