As blood banks run low on vital supply, local communities are answering the call for donations.
Last Sunday, Filipino community members donated blood to Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital Blood Donation Centre.
The group’s spokesperson, Allan Rodriguez, said “Our goal is to disseminate information about the importance of giving blood especially among Filipinos residing in Brunei and to help ourselves by maintaining good health as foreign workers here.”
Forty-one of the group’s 61 donors were able to donate blood, with the remainder unable to donate due to health conditions.
Rodriguez hoped that their initiative will encourage more Filipinos to participate in the next drive three months later.
