LEESBURG — Lake County Commission Chairman Sean Parks released a statement Wednesday evening on the Department of Health in Lake County's COVID-19 vaccination efforts.
It came hours after the DOH restarted its vaccine distribution program, which was met with sharp criticism from residents. Currently, the state is offering vaccines to residents of long-term care facilities, front-line health care workers and seniors.
"It is imperative that we give our seniors a better experience," Parks wrote. "We will continue to escalate your concerns and offer our resources to support DOH-Lake’s efforts."
Last week, the local vaccine distribution program began, but supplies ran short, and it stalled early this week.
